Mini Tennis Red Open Tournament January 2010

Sunday 31st January saw the latest LTA Mini Tennis Red Tournament at West Middlesex Tennis Club in West Ealing.  On a cold but sunny afternoon, 8 children aged  7 and 8 years old from Middlesex and the surrounding areas, played in a round robin competition in two groups.  The winners and runners-up in each group played each other. The level of tennis for these youngsters was incredibly high. The overall winner Thomas Bell from Pinner Moss Lane Club, won the final match 10-2, 10-8 and took home a medal.  All the players enjoyed their matches and there was a great sense of fair play and competitive spirit from these youngsters.

Tennis Clubmark

We are delighted to announce that we have achieved Clubmark status (one of only a few in Middlesex) .

The Tennis Clubmark is a club’s opportunity to be recognised for achieving excellent standards. Achieving Tennis Clubmark means the LTA endorses and supports a club’s tennis programme, policies and procedures, action and development planning, and club management.

West Middlesex Lawn Tennis Club, one of the friendliest clubs in West London, welcomes new members, from beginners to team players.

With nine all-weather (green!) courts, including floodlights on five of them, our large membership allows us to field 5 men's, 4 ladies' and 12 junior teams in the summer league. For the hardier players, we run 5 teams in the winter floodlit league and older players can take part in the veterans' league.

We have a reputation for offering an excellent coaching and development programme. We have been National Junior Club of the year and accredited as an LTA Mini Tennis Centre.

We are a long established dedicated tennis club with a particularly friendly adult section; our large junior membership is drawn from across West London and Middlesex, joining in our wide range of county recognised groups and squads.

Facilities

West Middlesex LTC has 9 well maintained hard courts (5 floodlit), a modern clubhouse with a viewing balcony overlooking all courts, a bar with snacks, and boasts one of the most experienced and qualified teams of coaches in the area.

Adult Section

There is something for everyone at West Middlesex Lawn Tennis Club.

Those interested in competitive tennis can play in one of the five men's or four ladies' teams in the Middlesex summer league and in the Middlesex Floodlit or Veterans' leagues. In summer 2009 2 teams won promotion.

We also run, throughout the year, the ever-popular singles and doubles ladders, open to all members.

West Middlesex is not just about tennis for team players. We also run programmes for beginners, and players of all standard are welcome to come to our Club sessions on Wednesday evening, Saturday and Sunday afternoons. We hold American Drives on the first Sunday of the month and on Monday bank holidays

See the Coaching and Weekly Programme for details of our varied programme for all playing abilities.

Junior Section

West Middlesex LTC. is justifiably proud of its junior section and record; in 1990 we were awarded 1st prize in the LTA National Junior Club Development Scheme, and we believe that few local clubs do more to encourage and motivate their juniors. We have put together a wide range of after-school, weekend and holiday coaching courses and "camps" from Mini-tennis and beginner up to county level squads for all age groups.

We have forged close links with Ealing Borough Sports Development and Middlesex County LTA and are heavily involved in schemes such as Active Sport.

Our highly qualified coaches are dedicated and enthusiastic. They offer individual lessons for young players keen to see a steady improvement in their game. Junior members have priority use of four of the courts, and are welcome to participate in the social events as well as having their own ladder league and annual junior club tournament.

Social Events

Social events such as quiz evenings, the Christmas party, and the awards dinner are held, through the year.

Look no further for your ideal local tennis club in Ealing; there are no "play in" restrictions, families are welcome, we have various subscription levels to suit your needs and all court and floodlight usage is completely free to members.
